Cassandra Oscar is an accomplished songwriter, composer and performer from Sydney.
She has performed at leading venues and events, including Opera Bar, Bondi Icebergs, the Manly Jazz Festival, and the Festival of Balmain, among others, under both her current and former artist names.
‘STOP Motion’ is her debut album of original jazz songs. An earlier EP has since been re-released under Cassandra Oscar and has attracted growing interest on social media.
Long-form bio
Cassandra Oscar is an accomplished songwriter, composer and performer from Sydney. Writing songs from an early age, she would sometimes find herself in trouble from her piano teacher for writing compositions, rather than practicing her homework.
Jazz has always had a special place in her heart. Her parents listened to jazz throughout her childhood and she was enamoured by the writing style of jazz standards.
Today she writes and performs original jazz songs, with a continued focus on songwriting and composition, and regularly creates new work.
She has performed at leading venues and events, including Opera Bar, Bondi Icebergs, the Manly Jazz Festival, and the Festival of Balmain, among others, under both her current and former artist names.
‘STOP Motion’ is her debut album of original jazz songs. Cassandra was also the album’s Producer and rhythm guitar player. An earlier EP has since been re-released under Cassandra Oscar and has attracted growing interest on social media.

STOP Motion is a collection of original jazz songs by Cassandra Oscar that explores the rich world in between movement and stillness where doubt, patience, enlightenment and impatience can all reside.
The 9 tracks traverse a rich musical landscape. Drawing on both latin and pop influences, they move from soulful blues to swinging jazz, and include a distinctive spoken-word piece, culminating in a show-stopping finale featuring Hammond organ.
‘STOP Motion’ has been carefully crafted from start to finish as a cohesive jazz album, designed to resonate with listeners across generations and cultural backgrounds.
